PennyPop is an information tool, not investment advice. It reports and scores public information; it does not recommend buying or selling any security or predict prices. Small-cap and penny stocks are highly volatile and can lose most or all of their value. Data comes from third-party sources and may be delayed, incomplete or wrong; always check the original filing or release. PennyPop is not affiliated with or endorsed by the SEC, Finnhub, Yahoo, GlobeNewswire or PR Newswire.
The news breaks in many places. PennyPop watches them all.
An 8-K on the SEC's website, a press release on a newswire, a volume spike before anyone has written a headline. PennyPop keeps watch from your system tray so you don't need a dozen tabs open.
- A direction: bullish, bearish or neutral.
- An impact score from 0 to 100, based on how often that type of event moves small caps.
- The reason: exactly which rule fired, such as "FDA approval", "share offering" or "14x normal volume".

Questions
Does PennyPop predict which stocks will go up?
No. It tells you quickly when something has happened and how significant that type of event has historically been. What you do with that is your decision.
Is the data real-time?
SEC filings are checked every 20 seconds and press releases every minute. Prices come from free sources and can be a few minutes behind live exchange data.
Do I need to pay for data?
No. PennyPop uses free public sources. You need a free Finnhub API key for news and earnings dates.
Which markets does it cover?
US-listed stocks (Nasdaq, NYSE, NYSE American). OTC stocks can be included in the Under-$20 list from Settings.
Will it flood me with notifications?
No. Old news never pops up, duplicates are merged, and you set the minimum score for a popup. Stocks outside your watchlist need a higher score.
Does it send my data anywhere?
Your watchlist and settings stay on your PC. Your email is only sent to the SEC, your Finnhub key only to Finnhub, and PennyPop sends no usage data.
Mac or Linux?
Windows only for now.
